Zoom - Zoom Blankie

My great nephew who is 2 years old loves Cars and needed a new blankie to carry around so I came up with this. It took me 4 days to design and create. I really like the way it turned out. I think the name could have been stitched on a little more even, but nothing's perfect, right? I am still trying to decide if I'm going to submit this for publication somewhere or just sell it in my Etsy shop. Once my testers are finished testing I'll make the decision then. Either way, please wish me luck!!!

Pool/Screen Room Pics

As promised here are the pics of our pool and the 2 screen rooms. When you first walk out of the kitchen you walk into a typical Florida Room which is rather roomy and nice. This is where we play cards and relax.

Here's the Pool Room. Right now we really don't have any lawn chairs or anything out here so it's kinda bare. Just a small table, bench and our grill but here it is.

Now out to the back yard which is quite nice as well.

It doesn't look like it in the picture but this plant is HUGE! The first time I saw it, I thought it was going to come to life and eat me! I keep waiting for it to break into song and say "Feed me Seymour!" LOL

This is the nice wooden swing which is in the backyard. It's just lovely but it's quite old and I don't think it could hold me and Doug's weight so it just looks pretty.

That's it for today. Tomorrow I'll try to post pics of the bathrooms and hopefully by weeks end I'll have pics of the master bedroom.

Pastel Pineapples Baby Ghan ~ Completed!

I made this as part of a CAL at CAL PALS. This is a very quick and easy project and was such a blast to make. I used Caron Perfect match in Peach and used just under 3 skeins. It took me about 3 days to work up. I just made it because it was pretty but don't have anyone in mind to give it to. I'm thinking of putting it up for sale in my etsy shop. Sorry that this pic isn't the best...

I made add a row or 2 of trim in white. Not sure if that would make it look better or worse?

Dining Room Pics

Ok, as promised, here are the pics of our dining room. In our old house our living room/dining room was all one big space but now we have a seperate room to eat in and were able to make it a little more formal and cozy.

It's hard to get a picture of it, but here's the best I could do...

It has 2 doorways. One off the living room and the other off the kitchen. Not like we have really anything expensive to put in there but I think the hutch and china look good in there. Can you believe that not one piece of china got broken in the move? When we started unpacking we saw that 4 tea cups were still below in the cabinet just sitting there. Somehow Doug's nephews missed packing them. We don't know how but they don't have a chip or crack in them! It's Doug's grandmothers very expensive china so we were happy it was all in one piece. The only thing that's of any valuable from my family is the white tea set you can see in the picture. (Well, kinda.) It belonged to my mom and is very near and dear to my heart. I don't think it's worth any money but it's a family heirloom.

Tomorrow I hope to show pictures of our pool and screen room as well as some updated pics of the guest bedroom. This weekend I finally unpacked the majority of my Star Wars and Beauty & The Beast collections and got them put up. It looks so nice in there now. Til tomorrow, have a great day!

Movie Review Monday ~ Pirates of the Carribean, Dead Man's Chest

Well, we went to see Pirates yesterday and pretty much everything we had heard was true. It's a lot like the Empire Strikes Back. Han Solo is encased in Carbonite, you don't know if he'll live again or what will become of the rebellion. It definately leaves you hanging. Well, Pirates is the same way. Definately didn't really tie up any loose ends but you know there will be a 3rd one and hope you'll get closure then.

It was a tad long but Johnny Depp was fantastic as always in (what I think) is his best role ever. The "villians" in this movie are a little creepy at first but once you get past the initial shock of how they look, it's amazing how cool a special effect they all are.

I had heard somewhere to stay til the end of the closing credits for something "special." Now, I told my hubby and so we stayed through over 10 mins (no lie) of credits. Finally at the end, the something "special" was a 2 second snippet which was "cute" but not worth standing there for 10 mins. The employees of the theatre I guess can't start cleaning while there are still patrons there as they stood there "staring" at us the entire time like "get out!" Let's just say, I don't think we'll be sticking around after the first part of the credits rolls again.

All in all I give the movie a B+...

P.S. Sorry I didn't get any pics posted this weekend. Will get some on here today!!!
