After 2 weeks of pure hell, I have finally passed the initial training and got hired!!! Out of the 12 people who started in this class, there are 5 of us left! Tomorrow we go through orientation, get our pictures taken for our badges and start the initial procedures. It's like a big weight has been lifted!
In other news, I have been so busy I've barely been able to get on line for more than a few mins at a time. I have swap packages that should have been sent out last week, e-mails that need sending and the Hubby Swap which I'm moderating that I have been neglecting. This new job is completely different than anything I've ever done and I'm working longer days, however, I'll have more time off in the end. I was going to go to the post office tomorrow after work but I found out that our local post office is only open til 4 and I work 7-4:30 so unfortunately I'm going to have to wait until Friday. We all get this Friday off so it'll be a nice 3-day weekend for us! Since Thanksgiving is next week we get Thursday, Fri, Sat and Sun off! WOW WOW WOW!!! I am not used to this at all!!!
Doug and I went grocery shopping yesterday and he suggested us going out to eat on Thanksgiving instead of me having to cook a big meal for just the 2 of us. I decided since my parents will be here for Christmas and I'll be cooking a big meal then, that going out on Thanksgiving sounded great to me! Not to mention that I think it'll be cheaper for the 2 of us to eat out than it would be for me to buy a ham, stuffing, potatoes and all the trimmings so that will be nice.
It dawned on us this weekend that it's only a little over a month from now that my parents will be here! I cannot believe it's so close! I am so excited and cannot wait to see them! I can't wait to spoil my dad and give my mom a nice break. Of course we have some major cleaning to do before they get here. Bev is allergic to dogs and has a hard time with "dog smells" so I'm cleaning the bedroom she'll be in from top to bottom. We're going to put Doug's air purifier in there and will febreeze the room everyday as I'm sure there are dog odors we don't notice that she will. Fozzy and Tweety never go in the guest bedroom, but it's still in the same house.
This weekend I worked on several more hats and scarves and am trying to get a handle on Christmas gifts. I'm almost done but I have a few little things to make before my parents get here. I already made my dad a stocking but need to make Bev one as well. I also need to make a neck pillow for him and a few other things not to mention I still have to finish Doug's present. UGH! I hope I finish everything in time!
Well, I have a ton of things to do before I go to bed in 2 hours so I need to get off the computer. Just wanted to give everyone an update and hope to have some time this weekend to get back to the world of Crocheting and my on-line friends!
