I'm outta here!!!

I am beyond excited to share the wonderful news that I got the job I have been trying to snag all summer!!! I just cannot believe it! My last day at my current job is tomorrow and gone forever are 6 day work weeks, no personal time off or sick days without going through the Spanish Inquisition, but best all, no more making money for a very dishonest, swindler of a boss!!!

Last week was the last straw. When an electrician told us that the emergency exit signs didn't work and that they needed to be replaced, my boss told me I could see fine to get out in case of a fire, that he doesn't need to fix anything!!! What a jerk! I am really quite upset that it took me this long to find another job! When I told him I was giving notice he was very upset with me and started interrigating me! Hello! I'm leaving, goodbye, finito! Nothing you can say or do will make any difference!

The only bad news is that I will no longer have as much time to crochet or be on my fave message boards. I will still be an active member, just won't be as talkative as I have been.

Well, that's it for now! I need to finish packing up my desk and get things ready for tomorrow! WOO-HOO!!!!!!

The BEST Toll-House Bars!

My hubby wanted a sweet this weekend so I made him some Toll House bars. I don't exactly remember where I found this recipe but it's the best we've ever had. Much better than the official "Nestles" recipe, that's for sure!

1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 stick butter/margarine
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup + 2 tbsp flour
9X9 baking pan
(you can use a regular cake pan if you double the recipe!)

I never took much stock in the whole "mix dry ingredients together first then add to ingredients in a particular order." I just mixed the butter and sugar first, then added the rest of the ingrediants one by one. Of course I would add the chocolate chips at the end if I were you. (Now, there are some recipes where you must add the ingredients in a particular order but this isn't one of them.)

Preheat oven to 375. Cook for 20-23 mins. If you wish you can put additional choc chips on top and put back in the oven long enough to soften the chips and spread over top.

ENJOY!
