Houses aren't what they used to be...

Well, we went and looked at a few houses last night and UGH is the only word to describe most of them. We saw one that's a 3br 2ba with a 1 car garage and the total square feet was under 1000! It was so tiny you could hardly turn around in that place! We also drove by several places that just weren't great. We did actually look at one that was reasonably priced, had a nice 2 car garage and the rooms were very roomy (even had a porch!) but whoever lived there before were smokers and the place was a mess. I mean, if you're gonna put a house up for rent, at least clean it first! With Sunday comes the new classifieds for the week so hopefully we'll find some things in the paper.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We need to find a place in the next couple of weeks!!!

Questions/Answers for my One Skein Secret Pal

I'm signed up to participate in the One Skein Secret Pal and am super excited about it! So if you're my pal, this is for you:

1. Which yarn is most like your personality?
Probably Lion Brand's Festive Fur as I'm quirky and don't really match anyone else's style.

2. What is your favorite color yarn to knit/crochet with?
I think it's called Watermelon in Caron's Simply Soft. It's such a vibrant, bright color.

3. Have you ever used variegated, or magic, yarns?
Yes. I like them all except I did not like Sassy Stripes Sock yarn at all.

4. Do you tend to favor certain fibers when choosing yarns?
I'm not really into looking at labels and such. I usually choose by three things. Color, Feel, Price.

5. Do you prefer to work with center-pull or traditionally wound balls of yarn?
Center Pull

6. Have you ever worked with organic yarns or are you interested in trying them?
I have not, but I love trying new yarns!

7. How many and what projects have you made in the last year?
More than I can count! Afghans, Scarves, Ponchos, Hats, Dishcloth Sets, Purses and Handbags.

8. Will you be knitting any gifts this year?
I do not know how to knit but am going to try and learn. However I will be giving tons of Crocheted gifts this year.

9. What is your favorite one skein project?
Aran Scarf

10. How much yarn do you have in your stash and how do you store it?
I have at todays count 4 1/2 boxes full of all kinds of yarn. It's in my bedroom closet and I tried to seperate each box. 1 for Acrylic like Red Heart and Caron. 1 box for any cotton yarns. 1 box for Homespun (saving for a big project) 1 box for any specialty yarns such as Amore, Fun Fur, Sock Yarn, etc. My last box is stuff that's waiting to be sorted.

11. Do you have a yarn in your stash that you love so much you can never use it or part with it?
Yes! I have several skeins I just pick up to pet!

12. Do you knit less or differently in the summer?
No, I crochet all througout the year, it's just that I can't wear some of my items til winter.

13. Do you belong to any knitting groups (online or offline)?
Crochetville
Crochetmania
CAL Pals

14. Pal, please confirm for me your mailing address
I'll wait for my pal to e-mail me for this answer!

Isn't she lovely?

So last night as I was watching TV I noticed my little Angel just sitting so pretty. I was able to take a cute picture of it! (Sorry, her eyes are a little kooky! They are always red in pics and my photo editor did a bad job touching them up!)

Just wanted to share my little angel!!!

This one is another cute one of her after she got back from the groomer!

Tired of being poked and prodded

Well I had to have all my "pre-testing" done today for the surgery. I took off 1/2 a day and went straight to the Dr's office. There I met with his PA and he went over the procedure and what to expect. I then went to the hospital where I had all my vitals checked, an EKG, about a zillion questions, 3 tubes of blood drawn, a urine sample and then chest X-Rays done. Geez! All of this for a simple little operation? My goodness!

Oh, not to mention that this morning before work I had to go to the dentist to get fitted for a crown. My whole mouth has been aching all day long which has given me a head-ache. My sweet hubby made me potato soup when I got home as I hadn't eaten all day. I think the ice cream in the freezer is calling my name! Blue Bell Dutch Chocolate. YUMMY!!!

So tonite is all about me. I'm working on a mindless project (the Ravenclaw HP scarf) and watching the People's Court. We'll watch Lost tonite and just relax. Hopefully I won't have to go through all this again!!!

At least I got a few things done today. I got my packages in the mail for some swaps and my mothers day package for Bev also got sent out. I sent it priority so I hope she'll get it by Saturday, but it seems like everytime I send anything up north it takes forever to get there. I swear, it takes less time for me to send a package all the way to my best friend in San Diego, California than it does to my parents in Michigan. Maybe the mail goes faster from east to west than south to north! I dunno!

Oh, before I forget I wanted to thank a very sweet person for sending me such a wonderful gift this week. You know who you are and just how incredibly wonderful it was to receive.

As a final note for now, they will take a pregnancy test before the surgery and if I'm not pregnant then, I will more than likely go back to my OBGYN and go back on birth control. My migraines as so bad lately that it's all I can do to sit up some days. This is a very hard decision for me to make and I'm still not sure if it's the right one but we'll see. I know the Lord is going to give us a child, but it may not be biological is all. Thanks for everyone's prayers and support.

Griffendore Scarf

I am making each of the 4 Hogwarts House Scarves for an upcoming crochet class. I whipped the Griffendore one up today and like the way it turned out. Couldn't find the right yellow color in Wool-Ease so I used a lighter one, but I think it still looks like a Harry Potter Scarf. Will do Ravenclaw tomorrow... This pattern went really fast as it was all HDC's.

We have to move

We knew it would happen eventually but it's still a bit of a shock. Our landlord got cancer about a month ago. We guessed that it wouldn't be long before we would have to move out and he called me tonite and let me know that he's going to need to move into this house by July or August. We totally understand and since our initial lease ran out we have been on a month to month. We've been here since we got married (5 years now) so it's gonna be tough. Now we have to start the search for a new place and considering that he hasn't raised the rent since we've been here, we will have to pay at least $400 more a month than we are paying now for something comperable.

Please pray that we find the right place for a price we can afford. Houses are very expensive here in Ocala not to mention finding places that allow pets. Thanks everyone!
