Living Room Pics

I finished taking pics of the living room and got them uploaded so I can share them on here finally!

Ok, these first 2 just show our nice, new furniture (as well as Fozzy's favorite sleeping place).

This shows our entertainment center and a bare wall right now. We will be hanging my mom's oil lamp in the corner soon. But first I have to clean that thing. It's been sitting in a box since we got married and hasn't been cleaned in years.

This one shows our beautiful bay window. I just love it! The tiles are gorgeous and have this really faint design in them. I'll have to try and take a pic of them eventually.

Tomorrow, I will try to put up pics of the Dining Room. Til then, I hope you're enjoying the guided tour!

Guest Bedroom Pics

Ok, as promised here are pics of the guest bedroom!

It's not completed yet. I have a ton of Beauty & The Beast and Star Wars collectibles to put up and I haven't hung the curtains yet either, but you get an idea of how it's laid out.

Ok, this is obviously the bed and home to some of my stuffed animals.

This one is the view as you walk into the room.

This is where I put a few knick-knacks for the time being, but once I get my collectibles unpacked, they'll be here.

And this just shows my Star Wars posters finally hung up. They've all been in boxes for the past 5 years as we had no place to put them in the old house. It sure is nice to see them hung up again!

I'm hoping to finish pics of the living room for tomorrow's entry.

Kitchen Pics

Today I'll be showcasing pics from the kitchen.

The first 2 are pretty much self-explanitory.

This next one just shows the double doors that go out to the Florida Room/Pool Room.

These next two show "Doug's side of the house" which is where the fireplace is, as well as his computer desk.

I don't know if it shows well or not but it's a rather large space. We have about 1/2 the kitchen cabinets here as we did at the old house but about 3 times more space. We have a huge open space in the kitchen right now with nothing in it. We are hoping to get a nice island but they are so pricey. As soon as we find one that suits us and is in our price range we'll get it. For right now practically ALL of my baking supplies, pans and such are in the garage as there's no where to put them.

There are 2 beautiful skylights in the kitchen which makes the need for lights useless except in the evenings.

Doug hates the bottom freezer but I like it.

Tomorrow I hope to show pics of the guest bedroom.

Craft Room Pics

Ok, I promised pics and I try to keep my promises so here ya go!

I'm starting out with the craft room which is "my little space". It's not completed yet but eventually I'll probably have a small table in the middle of the room to do my scrapbooking, painting and such and I also plan to get one of those cool Paint racks that hold 100's of tubes of acrylic paint. However, for what it's worth, here it is:

This is a pic of my "yarn area". I have had these shelves for years now and decided it would be great to lay them horizontally and store my yarn in it. I pretty much have it seperated by sections. Acrylics, fancy, cotton, thread, homespun, etc. On the bottom left I started putting pattern books and mags there for lack of a better place (but I have tons more) and on the upper left I am currently using that for all my ceramic and wooden figurines that need to be painted. The top of the shelves are just kinda filled with all kinds of stuff for the moment but eventually I will probably put binders with patterns and such there.

This really isn't a great picture but it kinda gives you an idea of how the room is laid out. The blueish plastic unit against the left wall is currently overflowing with my acrylic paints. As soon as I can get that Paint Housing unit it'll go there. You can also see the crate on the floor next to the door. That's where all my "balls" of yarn have wound up.

Ok, this one is my ever-messy desk area. I also had much more room in this house than in the old one in which to hang all my autographed and celebrity-meet pics in. They are nicely spread out in my room as opposed to being all crammed together.

This last one is where my TV and "entertainment" area is located. In the old house I used those pink shelves vertically and had the TV on top of it but changed it around here. Currently it's on top of my cedar chest. I've had it since I can remember and it's full of all kinds of stuff I kept when I was a kid. I can't bear to part with it. It really needs to be re-painted though. I know it was in the family before I got it so it's at least 40 years old if not older. Sometime in the next year I plan on stripping it and restaining it or repainting it in someway.

Well, that's my ugly craft room! Like I said, nothing special, but it's home!

Weekend Pics

As I stated in my last post, my nephew Adam and his wife Jen drove our new car down here this weekend and we had a nice time visiting with them. Below are a few pics we took.

This first pic Doug snapped as he and Adam played a game of chess on Doug's enormous chess set.

These 2 pics are of Doug and Adam playing chess.

This is Adam's wife Jen. She asked me to make her a purse so I did. She picked out the yarn (Homespun in beautiful fall colors) and I was able to whip this up Saturday evening for her.

New Car Pics

Well we got our new car and we LOVE it! It's a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica in Midnight Blue. It's super roomy inside and has lots of bells and whistles. The thing I like the most is the MP3 player. We purchased it from my nephew who works at a car dealership in Indiana. Him and his wife drove it down this weekend (they are driving my old car back up north for the trade-in.) I will be posting pics of them and our time together this weekend shortly.

Movie Review Monday ~ Cars

FANTASTIC! Not only was it funny, very well made and a feel-good movie, but the story-line was written well. Larry the Cable Guy does the voice for Mater, an old rusty tow truck and was just hilarious. Owen Wilson was the main car with many other great actors providing their voices. Fun for the whole family and definately an A+ for Pixar.

Hopefully we will go see Pirates next weekend!
