Flower Power Cake

I whipped this up on Sunday evening. It only took about 30 mins to decorate! I made this for 2 of the girls in my training class at work who were celebrating birthdays. Everyone loved it!

Kalispell Hat

I am trying to get some more Christmas Presents finished and whipped this up in less than 90 mins tonite! It was quick, easy and turned out lovely! I used KnitPicks Crayon in Pink. Thanks YarnCat for such a great pattern!!!

Our Christmas 2006 Picture!

Well, I finally got a chance to upload our first pictures for this Christmas season! It's a tradition that I started where we always take a family picture and send them out with our Christmas Cards every year. We always try to take them right after the dogs have been groomed so they are cute and usually it's an all day affair as usually Doug will set the auto timer and then we have to hope the doggies look at the camera when it snaps the picture. This year I suggested that Doug's mom come over and take the picture for us. She did and although I would have liked her to have taken a couple more shots, out of the 5 she took, this one was the best. I did have to PhotoShop eyes on Fozzy's head as his hair covered them up and he looked blind but hopefully they don't look too bad. Since I usually have to twist Doug's arm to actually take the pictures, I'm afraid this is as good as it's gonna get this year! Ah well!

Things are finally looking up!

Wow, what a roller coaster of emotions I've run through the past few days. After I was told to leave training at my new job Monday morning (me along with several other people) I was called later that afternoon and told that they were giving us more time to complete the phase we were on and to come back in. I went in and was able to finish by the new time limit, however I was still feeling pretty low last night. Doug kept telling me that today would be much easier that the portion we were going to be starting was a cinch and sure enough, he was right! I am speeding right along with this new phase and actually enjoyed it! We have until Monday at 11am to finish this phase and those who do "graduate" and become official employees and start getting paid! If we graduate, we'll have 3 more weeks of training but everyone who works there says they start with the hardest stuff first to weed out those people who won't stick with it. My class started with 12 people and we are now down to 6.

Well I just wanted to update everyone who has been such a faithful reader of my blog! I will be posting some new WIP pics this weekend and get back to "crocheting" very soon I HOPE!!!!

A bad start to my week

So Friday before leaving work several of us were pulled aside and were told that on Monday we would have til 11:30 to finish up or we wouldn't pass to the next part of the course. I get up this morning, go into work and am told, "Sorry, you'll never finish on time." It wasn't just me either. Out of the 12 people that started the class, only 3 are able to continue on. What really irks me is that they had us get up at 5:30 in the morning, get ourselves into work to only be told "Sorry, you didn't cut it." Why couldn't they have told us Friday?

So now I not only have to find another job but all the plans Doug and I had are down the drain. Since we won't be working together he cannot sell his car and I won't have the week between Christmas and New Years off to spend with my parents while they are here for Christmas. Not to mention I'll probably end up working weekends again.

I know, when the Lord closes a door, He will open a window somewhere.

Well, I'm off to finish printing off my resume and have to hit the pavement. Please pray that I find a job soon! I've already been off work for a week (it was unpaid training) so if I don't find something and quick, I don't know how we'll pay our bills this month.

Thanks everyone!!!
